Getting Rid of Ants with Baby Powder
Go to any store and purchase a bottle of Baby Powder. Make sure your brand has Talc as its main ingredient. Some baby powders contain cornstarch and is not as effective as deterring the little critters. Also, be aware that some brands have scents added; this will not affect the effectiveness of the powder but will come down to personal preference.
Find the areas where the ants are coming in and coat it with the baby powder. This acts as a masking barrier to them; they cannot find their scent trail through the baby powder. Whether you create a line of powder or dust the area, it is up to you. Experiment and find the technique that works best for the space given.
Lastly, if you cannot find where the little guys are getting in, consider dusting their food source with baby powder. Sugar bowls, honey jars, the lip of cabinets, all these are potential food sources. If you cut off their food supply, your house may become a less tempting place to break into.
