So many times we look for the latest and greatest to take care of our problems. We search the internet, scour TV commercials, and walk up and down the hardware store aisles to find the solution to our dilemma. But when it comes to ants, what we really need to do is look to our kitchen cabinet to find the best solutions to getting rid of them. Below is a tried and true method of confusing and getting rid of ants naturally – by using vinegar. By following these three easy steps, you will stop the little pests dead in their tracks and get your house back, for good.
Grab you gun – your spray gun. Find a spray bottle, empty it of any of its previous contents and clean it thoroughly. Next, find some vinegar. Any vinegar will do – but many swear by the effectiveness of apple cider vinegar. Finally, pour your vinegar into the bottle with an equal amount of water. Mix well.
Fire away. Locate all the ant trails leading to your home. Spray the diluted apple cider vinegar on the trails. Make sure to attack the trials both inside and outside your home. The ants will become agitated, but more importantly, they will become confused. Vinegar completely covers their scent trials and they are unable to follow one another to the food sources – your food.
Spray anywhere you suspect there may be an ant scent trail. The spray will dissipate in a matter of moments, but its effects will be long lasting.
Go for kill. Keep spraying as long as the ants try to form new trails. After a while, they will give up building scent trails to your home and look for new sources of food. Be persistent. The ants will eventually give up, but you must be willing to outlast them.
